Continuing Education Professional Development Selection Swells to Over 375 Online Courses

Spokane, WA (PRWIRE) June 3, 2005 - 24/7 Educational Services, LLC (www.my247ed.com) the leading online provider of educator professional development has introduced more than 150 new course selections to its catalog, bringing educators a selection to over 375 choices.

"We are very pleased with the additional courses and classes that have been recently added," stated Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services. "These courses focus on the educator and their needs, now, and as they prepare for the next school year or next teaching assignment."

What is unique about the courses that 24/7 Educational Services offers is that through their highly trained staff (all educators and administrators themselves) they work to individualize the content that is best for the individual educator.

"In the past, when an educator wanted to or needed to take a course, their choices were limited to traditional classroom delivery type courses. This posed a number of problems, including but not limited to; needing to hire a substitute, the number of hours or credit they would receive, travel and meals, the time commitment, and the all-too-often, canceled course, which resulted in the educator just taking 'some course, any course'. That's not how quality professional development should be offered."

24/7 Educational Services takes a completely different approach. They offer multiple solutions that range from providing a single customized course, to creating an individualized professional growth plan to meet the educators exacting needs.

In Washington State, for example, many educators create education plans with their administrator or education teams. In doing so, the educator and administrator develop a plan for the educator to work towards. The problem; if the plan calls for specific professional development and that professional development doesn't exist or isn't readily available, then the plan may go unfulfilled. From the administrator's point of view, they may not be satisfied with the educators ability to meet the plan goals and thus the teacher evaluation may reflect that. From the teacher's perspective, because the courses weren't available locally, the administrator is put into the position of having to allocate money for a substitute and travel and lodging and may not have the resources to do so.

The online courses delivered by 24/7 Educational Services eliminate that problem.

With the Educational Service Districts (ESD) in Washington State drastically reducing their own professional development courses and classes in favor of larger and more profitable 'conference style' presentations, offering professional development to meet individual needs is difficult to find if educators don't know where to look.

"24/7 Educational Services is very pleased to offer solutions that fill that gap between simple introduction and providing the real substance. We provide the real substance by offering educators courses, classes, workshops, conference solutions and services that are designed specifically to meet the educators individual needs."

Whitman continued, "Isn't that what continuing educational and professional development should be about?"

Double Dipping - Educators Earn Professional Development Credit and Hours for Dan Otter's Teach and Retire Rich Book and Course

Bethesda, MD (PRWIRE) April, 19 2005 - Author Dan Otter and 24/7 Educational Services, LLC (www.my247ed.com) have teamed up to offer professional development credit for reading Teach and Retire Rich. The 160-page book details in clear, easy-to-read prose the unique wealth-building tools available to educators and other school personnel.

"I thought this was a great way for teachers to kill two birds with one stone," said Otter, a teacher himself. "Actually let me restate that in more politically correct terms: marrying a book about teacher finances with professional development credit is a great way for educators to multi-task."

"We think this book and what we do is a great match," said Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services. "We can offer teachers a convenient, affordable way to earn professional development credit while they learn about critical financial issues. In fact, in addition to years in education, retirement benefits are often based on how many professional development hours or credits one's earned during that time."

Educators can earn up to 15 hours or one-credit for the course, Teach and Retire by completing a series of activities, many of which are web-based and allows the educator to see and experience for themselves different models and options. Credit is available through Seattle University.

24/7 Educational Services LLC, extends regional professional development and continuing education offerings with national launch of regionally accredited courses and extended professional development management services (PDMS).

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) - February 18, 2005 -- 24/7 Educational Services LLC (www.my247ed.com) today announced that it is extending its marketing and delivery of regionally accredited continuing education courses, state approved "hours" and its professional development management services (PDMS) with a nationwide presence with its partner TouchSmart Publishing at the 2005 American Association School Administrators (AASA) in San Antonio, Texas.

Now, 24/7 Educational Services is able to expand its offerings and is capable of providing accredited quarter and semester hour courses on a national scale in accordance with individual state requirements. In the past, 24/7 Educational Services has provided thousands of courses to educators in Washington, New York, Oregon, Arizona, Montana, Idaho and internationally to Canada, Mexico, Turkey and Japan among others.

24/7 Educational Services, in addition to courses and content, provides an advanced solution to manage professional development through its Professional Development Management System (PDMS). Depending on the requirements of each state, the burden of managing professional development often falls to the individual educator and in turn to the local schools or district. In such cases, managing professional development of each individual educator - whether for licensure or pay-scale purposes - can be substantial, and often requires staffing, unrelated to student learning.

Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services - an educator and administrator himself - stated, "There are a lot of "hoops" that schools, and districts have to jump through to ensure compliance with the different state requirements. Many schools and districts do the best they can with the limited resources they have - and those resources are, in all likelihood, better spent on student instruction than worrying about passing a state audit. With the my247ed.com PDMS, the individual educator has access to their completed professional development, as does the school, the district and state auditors - at the click of a mouse. And, the educators' professional development records follow them, so there's no impact on substantiation of a record required by the former employer."

Whitman continued, "We provide a very innovate and eloquent solution to a problem that, individual educators, schools, districts and the state have tried to fix or at least manage.

24/7 Educational Services reaches teachers around the world. In order for teachers to maintain licensure and certifications they frequently are required by their respective state laws to participate in continuing education courses. In this era of teacher accountability with legislative mandates like No Child Left Behind (NCLB), states and teachers are increasingly turning to online professional development courses. Receiving courses in the comfort of their offices, classrooms, and homes that meet these requirements reduces the onus many teachers experience by having to get a substitute and taking courses during the school day, when students would be better served without their absence.

"We've been approached by an number of states and educators that are looking for high quality, relevant and timely professional development courses where content can be either created to meet the specific needs of educators in a school, district or state setting, and/or existing best practices courses that directly enhance learning that takes place in the classrooms without overwhelming the educator." Stated Whitman.

Whitman continued, "There are several advantages to online learning. For example, too many times professional development opportunities are viewed as a "quick fix", versus a beginning or continuum of learning. The analogy of a still-camera and a movie-camera works well. With the still-camera view, traditional professional development has very defined times - whether a day or several days. While the motion-camera, as provided by online and web-based courses, there's time for implementation and reflection, as our courses are available to the educator for up to a year after the course is completed. Educators are encouraged and able to interact with the instructors even after the course is completed. By having content in a digital form, book marked in a browser, the need for stacks of reference manuals or notebooks dog-eared sitting on shelves with good intentions, becomes a thing of the past.

TouchSmart Publishing and 24/7 Educational Services Announce Strategic Partnership

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) - February 1, 2005 --TouchSmart Publishing, LLC and 24/7 Educational Services, LLC today announced a strategic partnership to develop and deploy teacher professional development (PD) courses. As part of the agreement TouchSmart Publishing has agreed to develop and offer courses through 24/7 Educational Services’ website - www.my247ed.com - and paper-based catalogs that uses the technology.

According to Jason Barkeloo, President of TouchSmart Publishing, "Training teachers to implement our easy-to-use technology platform is an important goal in our quest to deploy our technology." Barkeloo added that, "Interactive textbooks and flash cards based upon our technology promise to connect more students to digital content."

Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services, explained that, "24/7 is pleased to deploy TouchSmart’s professional development course targeting teachers around the world. Exposing teachers to break-through technologies that impact learning allows them to be ahead of the deployment curve, instead of running to catch up. A teacher will register for a course through our catalog in which a professional development book is delivered to the teacher. The teacher can then sit down in front of the computer or television and interact directly with the digital content of the course by pressing pictures and words on the pages."

24/7 Educational Services reaches teachers around the world. In order for teachers to maintain licensure and certifications they frequently are required by their respective State laws to participate in continuing education courses. In this era of teacher accountability with legislative mandates like No Child Left Behind (NCLB), States and teachers are increasingly turning to online PD courses. Receiving courses in the comfort of their offices, classrooms, and homes that meet these requirements reduces the onus many teachers experience by having to get a substitute and taking courses during the school day, when students would be better served without their absence.

Whitman continued, "Too many times PD opportunities are viewed as a "quick fix", versus a beginning or continuum of learning. The analogy of a still-camera and a movie-camera works well. Still-camera - Often, traditional PD has very defined times - whether a day or several days. Motion-camera - With our web-based courses, there’s time for implementation and reflection, as our courses are available to the educator for up to a year after the course is completed. Educators are encouraged and able to interact with the instructors even after the course is completed. By having content in a digital form, book marked in a browser, the need for stacks of reference manuals or notebooks dog-eared sitting on shelves with good intentions, becomes a thing of the past. The TouchSmart product puts both at the touch of your fingers."

Barkeloo notes, "Teachers have to achieve professional development standards and this is a cost-effective method for distributing content to them. We believe this is the best way to help teachers meet their continuing education requirements while at the same time exposing them to our new technology."

This deployment will occur in two phases. The first phase will have the course available and accessible only through the on-line environment. Courses will be available within 90 days and listed in the course offering catalogs being produced and distributed by 24/7 Educational Services. In the second phase the teacher will receive the TouchSmart course "book" through the mail. This book will enable the teacher to access additional course content in a multi-media format by simply touching words and pictures in the book and having it call up the content from the web or a DVD player attached to a television.

Whitman concluded that, "Coupling our two technologies to deliver PD courses to teachers is a ‘win-win’ strategy. As the teacher selects courses that are often paid for by the State or school district, we believe the teacher will try cutting edge courses and technologies such as those offered by TouchSmart. 24/7’s goal is to deliver PD content in a convenient way to teachers and the TUI-based technology is exactly inline with our goals."

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Washington State Auditors use www.my247ed.com technology to expedite and verify educator records online and in real-time.

SPOKANE , WA - November 21, 2004. 24/7 Educational Services LLC, Washington's largest statewide provider of online professional development, recording and tracking of clock-hour and credit hour courses, is pleased to provide statewide verification services to the Washington State Auditors office.

24/7 Educational Services LLC was recently contacted by a representative of the School Programs within the State Auditor's office and asked to clarify the use of the ‘signature' program that's used to electronically sign completion records of professional development clock-hours form per the Washington State Administrative Code (WAC) requirements.

"We were very pleased to not only provide clarification of they process, but to also demonstrate the usefulness of such a system to verify a record based solely on the signature," stated Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services.

"This is the first and only service of its kind, where an individual educator, district personnel officer or other related school or state official may instantly verify a completion record that been taken and completed through our educator-centric services. In addition to being able to verify any record, the record resides with our system for a minimum of seven years and an original is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via a pdf download."

This feature is viewable at www.my247ed.com.

In the written response received by 24/7 Educational Services, the reply was simple. "The information will be a great help to us in the field of auditing."

Unless the 24/7 Educational Services verification process is being used, there is little or no control over the substantiation and verification of a signature used to actually grant clock-hours. Original documentation is generally not used, as a result the copy an auditor, district official or the re-certification office uses is often 2 to 4 generations old. However, with 24/7 Educational Services, every online, real-time verification results in an original form being available in soft and hard-copy.

Whitman continued, "This is another example of how 24/7 Educational Services provide services to a variety of entities – whether individual educators, district personnel or state officials that make the cumbersome process of clock-hour tracking smarter, more efficient and less expensive than has traditionally been expected by the Educational Service District (ESD)."

Because only individual educators may pay for clock-hours - yet are requirement to maintain certification, 24/7 Educational Services provides a lower cost alternative while providing a significantly higher level of service as compared to the ESD price-controlled option. By using 24/7 Educational Services, educators may save up to 100 percent of the arbitrary and misleading fees that local ESD's charge. This includes the minimum, plus, "by-the-hour" charges imposed by ESD's for clock-hours and transcript fees.

Private schools and school districts can save up to 70 percent in clock-hour tracking and recording costs and their educators receive their clock-hour fees for significantly less. The result is a win for the educator and a win for the school or school district.

Technology in Play: www.my247ed.com to provide electronic record-keeping and clock-hour tracking at Spokane NCCE Conference. (Northwest Council for Computer Education)

SPOKANE , WA - April 12, 2004 . 24/7 Educational Services LLC, a leading provider and deliverer of clock hour courses and related services is pleased to announce that it will be providing electronic clock-hour reporting and tracking services for the NCCE Conference (Northwest Council for Computer Education) in Spokane, at no-charge for educators wanting Washington State clock-hours. Through the use of strategic partnerships they are able to provide educators with a free alternative to ever-increasing clock-hour fees charged by Washington 's Educational Service Districts (ESD).

"We are very pleased to be able to deliver our services directly to a constituency of educators that obviously have a vested interest in technology and technology for practical use in their current setting for both students and themselves", said Tod Whitman, President and CEO of my247ed.com.

One of the most requested courses in the past, and continuing today, are courses with titles similar to 'Technology Integration into the Existing Curriculum'. Whitman's view on professional development takes a similar approach. "Since educators are successfully able to integrate technology into the classroom, the logical next step is to provide professional development and the maintenance of an individual educators professional development history to be equally as integrated - electronic management. No more lost receipts, no more 'transcript fees' - just convenient access to your records when you need it - 24 hours a day 7 days a week."

Content and services delivered by www.my247ed.com provide an eloquent solution to a very costly, tedious and cumbersome process for individual educators, ESDs, school districts and at the State level, with its pre-filled forms that are easy to read, 24x7 access and its real-time verification system. Best of all, the ease of use and efficiency of the system is unprecedented for education standards, which are reflected in the fees it charges - either a flat-fee of $10 or free. According to Whitman, "You already know the cumbersome, inflexible and disinterested process that other clock-hour providers provide. Not here - whether only one person requests clock-hours or 1,000 every solution is customized to the individual educator need - that's the ease and efficiency I refer to above. Having said that, whether a minimum of 3-hours is taken or the conference maximum, clock-hours for this conference are free and we'll thank you for your business!"

It's really simple Whitman continued, "Every day educators come to our site, and realize that there are other and better ways to meet their professional development needs and requirements - some are looking for course selection solutions that maybe their ESD's don't, can't or won't provide, others like the ongoing interaction with course authors and up to a years access after the course is completed, while still others like our prices, services and convenient access. As for per hour clock-hour fee charges, it's the educator's money, so it's their choice. Here, it's flat-fee or free."

With one of the largest approved online clock and credit-hour catalogs in Washington , www.my247ed.com provides a comprehensive suite of courses and services for educators at all levels in their professional careers.

Not just the clock-hours are free. "We invite all educators to our “tent” for free drinks."

Expanded Partnership with Washington Federation of Independent Schools Slashes Clock Hour Fees for Educators Statewide.

SPOKANE , WA - January 7, 2004 . 24/7 Educational Services LLC, a leading provider and deliverer of clock hour courses and related services is pleased to announce its plans for reducing clock hour fees statewide in partnership with Washington Federation of Independent Schools (WFIS).

"This is an unparalleled opportunity for educators in Washington ," stated Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services LLC. "We recognized an opportunity to provide services to WFIS members and directly to its individual educators, by providing a choice in services. We're very pleased to be able to accommodate a large constituency of educators in Washington . We look forward to expanding this service to all educators."

As part of the agreement, 24/7 Educational Services will provide tracking, verification, accounting, fee collection and warehousing of data per the WAC's on behalf of WFIS for its members and their educators statewide. A decision will be made shortly as to whether to make these services available to all educators, public and non-practicing educators.

Dan Sherman, Executive Director of WFIS, stated, "Members should expect to see services if fees are to be paid. With this partnership, we significantly reduce the cost of clock hour fees and dramatically improve needed and desired services. We're excited to see this go forward and look forward to additional opportunities and features being added."

"This is a win-win, " continued Whitman. "Membership type organizations and services are in place to serve the members and their educators. Until this WFIS project, there were few if any, organizations in place to meet this growing need for the individual educator, or at least to provide a choice in clock hour services."

24/7 Educational Services initiates partnership discussions with Washington's Educational Service Districts (ESD) to reduce ever-increasing educator fees.

SPOKANE, WA - January 5, 2004 - 24/7 Educational Services, LLC, a leading provider of electronic continuing education and professional development courses and services in Washington State, has announced it has initiated partnership discussions with all nine of Washington State's ESD's.

In simple terms, what 24/7 Educational Services LLC proposed, is to become the central clearinghouse for all clock hours, including; tracking, recording, verification, warehousing and fee collection of clock hours statewide.

"We've had several discussions with people at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) including Marty Daybell, Deputy Superintendent at OSPI and Larry Davis, Executive Director of the Washington State Board of Education. They are well aware of the issues, intricacies, the tracking and record keeping burden placed on the ESD's and others." Tod Whitman, President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services LLC states, "Marty's seen my247ed.com's system first hand at his desk in the Old Capitol Building . He's well aware of its capabilities."

Whitman, an educator and administrator himself, clearly understands the issues. The solution proposed by 24/7 Educational Services LLC provides a win-win-win solution for all entities involved as described in a letter to each of the ESD's last month. This includes the ESD's as well as the individual educator, who Whitman describes as, "its customer."

Previous written and oral statements by Whitman have reiterated, "24/7 Educational Services does not wish to compete with the ESDs, rather we'd like to form complimentary and cooperative relationships. The main focus of the ESD is to support schools districts and schools. This is about the individual educator. Educators shouldn't be taken for granted, nor should they be limited to a single source for fulfillment of their requirements. To that end, 24/7 Educational Services has invited each of the ESD's to participate in this clock hour solution system. It's good for the ESD's and more importantly, it's great for the individual educator."

Ironically, the proposed 24/7 Educational Services LLC solution, is something that the ESD's would rather not have to do anyway, as it's a timely and inefficient process. However, the ESD's derive substantial revenue from clock hour fees that must be paid. 24/7 Educational Services LLC's solution maintains revenue to the ESD's and provides substantially reduced clock hour fees to the individual educators.

"This is a simple solution, " says Whitman. "The ESD still receives revenue from clock hours, its responsibilities, direct and indirect costs drop to virtually zero, the individual educator gets reduced clock hour fees and 24/7 access to their records - something the ESDs don't offer. There's no downside. However, I think the "push-back" we'll get on this will be the typical bureaucratic response. If that's the case then we'll go directly to the individual educator - immediately."

Whitman looks forward to a favorable and positive response before mid January. And, while ESD participation is not required in order for its regions' individual educators to benefit, 24/7 Educational Services sees huge potential with or without the participation of the ESDs.

24/7 Educational Services partners with PSESD (Puget Sound Educational Service District 121) to delivery high quality courses and services to educators in the Greater Seattle Area.

SPOKANE, WA – June 2, 2003 – 24/7 Educational Services, LLC, a leading provider of electronic continuing education and professional development courses in Washington State, has announced its partnership with Puget Sound Educational Service District 121, to deliver approved clock hour and accredited credit hour courses to educators in Washington State. Tod Whitman, President and CEO, 24/7 Educational Services, said, “ This is a great opportunity for educators in Western Washington to have access to an even greater variety of quality course selections and services – for both private and public school educators. Our site and our system is more than just high quality courses. It easily allows individual educators to track and log all their courses - clock hour courses and credit hours courses, even courses not taken through us or our partners, so that re-certification and verification of completed courses are available to educators around-the-clock.”

And, Whitman continued, “At the school and district level, 24/7 Educational Services LLC., also provides delivery of grants content, or other individual school or districts content, in a controlled, consistent and accountable manner. This provides tremendous flexibility in the delivery of specific content relevant to meet their requirements, while remaining easily changeable and updateable. So, schools or districts struggling with the high cost associated with training, re-training, ongoing training and/or turnover, have another option to reduce overall costs while ensuring quality, consistency and accountability for both certified and classified staff.”

Under the terms of the partnership, PSESD will market and advertise the 24/7 Educational Services courses to more than 40,000 educators in its region as part of its commitment to provide educators with a broad selection of high quality courses. “Providing innovative leadership and quality services for our educational communities includes creating partnerships that have extended value to our educators.” Stated Marlene Fusion, Director of Teaching and Learning at PSESD, “This is one such example.”

Satisfying the Washington State requirement for continued certification can often be a problem for educators currently teaching as well as those non-practicing educators. 24/7 Educational Services allows educators to complete courses at their own pace and in their own location. Courses range in length generally from 10 to 60 clock hours (1 to 5 quarter credit hour courses in partnership with Seattle University) and cost significantly less than traditionally delivered college or university credits.

SPOKANE, WA – May 8, 2003 – 24/7 Educational Services, LLC, a leading provider of electronic continuing education and professional development courses in Washington State, has announced its partnership with PRIME Curriculum (Primary Resource and Industry Management Education) to deliver an accredited version of their curriculum focusing on agriculture, mining, forestry, fishing and petroleum in Washington State and focusing on the primary grades, kindergarten through the fifth grade.

“ We are very pleased with the addition of PRIME’s curriculum to our catalog, “ said Tod Whitman President and CEO of 24/7 Educational Services. “This is an exciting opportunity for 24/7 Educational Services to not only deliver the high quality content of the PRIME Curriculum, but also to highlight our commitment to promote courses that are timely and relevant to educators and their students in our Region. We are now able to offer these courses as accredited Washington State clock hours course and to educators at a significantly reduced rate.”

PRIME’s curriculum was first used in (2001), and has since delivered more than (200) of its curriculum kits statewide. “The costs of our kits and materials are made available by individual and corporate sponsors, with no cost to the educator. Being able to have educators exposed to our content without the expense of delivering a kit, that may or may not get used, is very attractive,” stated Peg Shipley, founder of PRIME Curriculum. “Furthermore, everyone of PRIME’s lesson are completely aligned with Washington State EALR’s which allows the educator to focus on the delivery of the materials rather than trying to figure out how or if the lessons meet ever changing requirements.“

“ In the past, taking courses often required the absence of the educator during the school day, or were taken after school, on Saturdays or on state sponsored curriculum days,” continued Whitman. “By utilizing the 24/7 Educational Services system, educators are in control of the courses they choose to take, can take them on their own time, at their own pace and in their own place.”

Satisfying the Washington State requirement for continued certification can often be a problem for non-practicing educators, as well as those currently teaching. 24/7 Educational Services allows educators to complete courses at their own pace and in their own location. About PRIME Curriculum

Most educators and children are at least 2 to 3 generations removed from an agricultural lifestyle. Many students don't realize that bread and steak are not products of the local supermarket. While most adults have a primitive knowledge of many common items' origins, these same adults often do not generalize that knowledge to see how agriculture really affects them. As technological advances in industry continually expand, society in general becomes less aware of the significance and fundamental value of this, and other, primary industries.

PRIME (Primary Resource and Industry Management Education) is an exciting and essential curriculum, which will bring agriculture education into the very hands of elementary school children. PRIME is a curriculum specifically developed to reach children from the time they enter kindergarten until they complete the fifth grade. PRIME Agriculture is the first of five curricula to be presented; following will be those addressing the other four primary industries; forestry, fishing, mining and petroleum.

SPOKANE, WA – February 28, 2003 – 24/7 Educational Services, LLC, a leading provider of electronic continuing education and professional development courses in Washington State, has announced its partnership with Dr. Julie Miller, Inc. to deliver an accredited version of her writing course that has been presented to more than 200,000 business and educational professionals around the country. Tod Whitman, President and CEO, 24/7 Educational Services, said, “ We are thrilled to have Dr. Miller join our team. Her content is relevant, practical and necessary for today’s educators.”

This newest course, Education Writing That Counts!, focuses on two issues facing educators: writing efficiently and writing effectively. Whitman stated, “With today’s collaborative environment, keeping all school constituencies informed and up-to-date, requires clear, concise communication. We believe Dr. Miller’s content will complement our other courses nicely.” A second course, Education Writing That Counts! For School Administrators, is currently being piloted by WASA (Washington Association School Administrators www.wasa-oly.org).

Under the terms of agreement, Dr. Julie Miller Inc., has licensed its Education Writing that Counts! course. “We are very pleased to have a venue for delivery and marketing of this course in the education sector, as both accredited clock hour and credit courses through Seattle University,” said Dr. Julie Miller, of Dr. Julie Miller Inc. “Having been in education, I know how incredibly busy educators are! Being able to get clock hours or credit online is just a wonderful opportunity.”

Satisfying the Washington State requirement for continued certification can often be a problem for non-practicing educators, as well as those currently teaching. 24/7 Educational Services allows educators to complete courses at their own pace and in their own location. Courses range in length from 10 to 60 clock hours and cost significantly less than traditional college or university credits.

24/7 Educational Services, LLC to offer accredited high quality, conveniently delivered continuing education courses to educators statewide.

SPOKANE, WA – October 3, 2002 – 24/7 Educational Services, LLC a leading provider of electronic continuing education and professional development courses in Washington State, has announced their partnership with the Washington Federation of Independent Schools (WFIS) to offer and deliver accredited professional development courses to private, public and non-practicing educators statewide.

24/7 Educational Services provides an aggregation and delivery service for “best-of” educator professional development and in-service courses that are currently being taught in Washington. 24/7 Educational Services licenses these courses from the instructor and makes them available to all educators in Washington via the Internet, video, CD-ROM and/or the traditional classroom delivery model. By aggregating these courses, 24/7 Educational Services enables the educator to take a wide variety of courses that are more appropriate to their interests, rather than courses that are taken based only their proximity to the educator. “We select and aggregate only the very best courses and make them available to all educators throughout Washington State. The courses are carefully selected and reviewed by our Board and made available to over 70,000 educators. No longer is the educator controlled by courses offered only in their district or region, or by classes inconveniently scheduled across the State or during school hours. In the past, taking courses often required the absence of the educator during the school day, or were taken after school, on Saturdays or on state sponsored curriculum days,” said Tod Whitman, President and CEO, 24/7 Educational Services. “By utilizing the 24/7 Educational Services system, educators are in control of the courses they choose to take, can take them on their own time, at their own pace and in their own place. Additionally, educators are able to easily store and retrieve all the courses that they have taken in the last five years as required by the Washington State Administrative Code (WAC). We make it simple and easy for the educator to reference their information, whether it’s for use in the classroom with students, or for managing their re-certification status.”

Under the terms of agreement, WFIS will co-sponsor these courses and provide the central clearinghouse for the approved courses. “One of the most attractive components of our partnership with 24/7 Educational Services is the ability for our member schools and educators, or any school district educator for that matter, to have readily available courses in a variety of subject areas, content areas and grade levels,” said Dan Sherman, Executive Director of WFIS. “It is a perfect model for the delivery of course content in a consistent and reliable manner, whether it’s to meet grant requirements, an area where there tends to be the need for ongoing, reoccurring or high turn-over issues, or the development of scope and sequence in courses offered.”
